Financial Assistance for Rent and Utilities

House of Amos assists people with rent and utilities so they can remain in their home with electricity and running water. In 2024, House of Amos distributed more than $29,000 to 140 people, which kept them in their homes and avoided disconnection of utilities. Financial assistance awarded in 2024 is 30% more than awarded last year. The number of people who received financial assistance is 45% more than last year.

Literacy Program

House of Amos has offered English as a Second Language (ESL) classes since 1996.

Currently, classes are being held Monday through Thursday from 9 am until 1 pm. The Burlington English software program is used in all of our ESL classes. Students are able to use the Burlington English software on personal devices outside of class so they can enhance their learning experience outside of the classroom.
